Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz will fight for the first time since losing the title at UFC Vegas 54. On May 14, he will meet the rising Aleksandar Rakic. The bout will be held at the UFC’s APEX Center in Las Vegas.
Blachowicz made his professional debut in 2007, after winning gold at the 2008 World Championships. He won numerous light heavyweight tournaments and the light heavyweight title while fighting for KSW. He made his UFC debut in 2014 and has an 11-6 record with the organization. In 2020, he defeated Dominick Reyes for the UFC light heavyweight title.
Blachowicz’s previous fight was in October. Glover Teixeira defeated him for the title.
Rakic made his professional debut in 2011. He joined the UFC in 2017 and is now 6-1, winning his last two fights. Rakic last fought in March, when he won a unanimous decision over Thiago Santos.
